So this bar advertises all these shots you can do with the girls there but they won't do any of them with me?

so there is this bar/pub i go there here , its really busy during the summer and on this wall near the outdoor patio they created a wall display of all the staff members names and a " shot " associated with them , example sarah > tequila , kim > burt reynolds

but when you ask them if they'd want do to one they say no and are like i'm not drinking or had to drive to work. i've been there a bunch of times this summer and yet to do one of these shots with these bartenders yet. they've never once offered either or suggested i should order the shot associated with there name and do it with them or someone else at the bar.

i'm at a loss , even if they didn't like me personally or want to do a shot with me. from a business stand point isn't good business to sell the product to the customer if thats what your advertising on this board? is this board some kind of sick joke? just to get guys like me interested in doing something that apparently is never going to ever happen

should i complain to the management? the whole thing just doesn't seem right on any level , why advertise something that is apparently not really being offered.

A lot of establishments use trickery. I knew two very pretty girls who worked at a restaurant and the manager told them to flirt with guys, pretend they are single, and give guys their numbers to get them coming back to the restaurant and I had managers flirt with me at Starbucks cause I was a regular customer there.

the sign is really weird on many levels , why not just list the shots available at the bar and promote them? why add the girls names and create a personal connection to them , some of these shots are insanely common , why associate them with a specific bartender

i talk to a lot of the girls who work there , maybe i'm too much of a regular to fall for these tricks but still none have ever asked me if i wanted to do there " shot " with them , none have ever suggested we do that
most of the girls who work there , i've never ever done a shot with , which seems odd considering there bartenders and everyone does shots at that bar like its no big deal

i did a shot with one of the girls who works there but it occured at another bar in another city back in April , i saw her there and asked and we did one but we've never done one at the place she works

i've seen bartenders drink on the job here , they are allowed to have the odd drink and seen them do shots before , sometimes as a group of servers they'd all do one at the same time

also if they didn't want to get drunk could do non alcoholic shots instead although that might be fraud if there charging the guy full price for 2 shots and 1 isn't real

an update after the weekend , still haven't done a shot with any of the girls who work there , some of them were there on Friday night after there shift so off work and drinking / doing some shots with friends. i asked one of them if she wanted to do one and she said no. despite the fact we get along and talk when there.
but i did do a shot when there but it was with a girl who works at a restaurant across the street , she was there with friends and i asked her and she said yes , we've talked a couple times before but aren't close friends

it was really hot too , she was wearing this top that was rather revealing but she has a boyfriend so its like i'm not sure whats going on here.

i don't have trouble finding women even younger women to do shots with when at bars , just at this place the girls won't do one anymore. i had done shots there before but that was a year ago not any since.

i have a new theory as to what i'm being told no , you can have a say if you think its the answer or not. they've been told by the manager to not do any shots with me , they can obviously serve me shots if i'm doing them with someone else but been told to not do any with me when there. or the girls decided among there social group to not do any with me for what ever reason? maybe they were annoyed with me or upset about something or someone there.

i really don't like the manager there , she's way under qualified and only got the job cause original manager got pregnant during covid and had to quit. she had only been a server before and not even that great of one. she's also a lesbian so of course she'd have an issue with someone like me.

although not entirely sure why she'd care if i did a shot with these girls or not , you think it be good for business if i bought some right? but i wouldn't be surprised at all if someone has said something.

i'm not an alcoholic , never done more than 1 or 2 shots a night at that bar and never intentionally tried to get a girl drunk to try and take advantage of her. i'm the type of person who'd do like 1 shot a night with someone i knew well or wanted to meet. so not sure why they'd have any concerns about me doing the odd shot there with girls who work there. most nights don't do any shots there , have a couple beers or a twisted tea

i've never followed any of them to there car , i don't even know what type of car most of them drive to work anyways so i wouldn't even know if it was there car or not if i walked by it in the parking lot.

no not really , i just like doing shots with different people at different bars , i wanted to do shots with these girls cause i knew them and though it would be a fun experience. as i had done shots with other similar girls and enjoyed it

that is a good question , it states there name and lists a shot beside it. i'm not sure if the shots are really there favorites or if each was just assigned one as there is only so many on the menu there

no it doesn't say you can do it with that specific girl but you can understand why some guys might mis interpret the sign and assume they could order this shot from the girl and do it with her

@asker maybe it’s just their favorite kind of alcohol, but that doesn’t mean that they may be interested drinking that day. I was a bartender 4 years ago and you can easily get drunk shit faced every shift you work if you accept shots everytime. I even used to make myself water shots (water disguised as vodka) because I didn’t want to end up drunk. Condoning a person to drive home drunk for your sake sounds about inhumane.

i've never suggested to any of them that they should drive home drunk just for the sake of doing a couple shots at the bar. some of them live nearby so getting a ride into work shouldn't be an issue if they knew they'd be drinking that night.

i just don't see what the point is of advertising these shots if they won't do them. something is seriously not right here. its at least false advertising which is illegal , you can't advertise something that is not actually for sale at a business. there advertising these shots with certain bartenders but won't really do them

Because you are misreading their advertisement. Their advertisement doesn’t say “ask the bartender to do this shot with you” that’s what you are reading into because you are creepy and aren’t understanding that consent is a law

these bartenders have never once asked if i wanted these shots , for the purpose of doing myself or for buying for other people. isn't it there job to promote them when at work and being paid to make drinks for people at the bar? that is there job right to serve people drinks and suggest menu options that a person might want to order or try to be different

i just don't get what the point of the sign is and i think its putting these girls into an awkward position where guys like me and thinking they could do the shots with them if they wanted to and that such a thing could easily happen if i went to the bar and ordered the shot
