Are there any positive aspects to having a brain wired for social climbing?

Anonymous

Please hear me out. I’ve never been miss popular, at least not to my knowledge. I have been made fun of a lot for my personality and appearance. Most of my time growing up j wanted to be cool and popular. In middle school I was a social climber. Was not successful. But my mindset was about what clothes to wear to be cooler, how to socially maneuver at school to be seen as cool.

as an adult I guess it’s still possible to be of that mind. But for example at work right now I wouldn’t be able to pinpoint who is the most popular. So it’s different than it was in school.

trust me if I had success as a social climber in middle school and then high school, I’d probably be really stuck up and be a Kim kardashian shallow type of person. Not to judge her but I’m just going based off her public image of someone who will wear and do anything even a naughty tape to climb the social ladder and hang out with richer and more popular people.

im like a failed Kim K or Paris Hilton.

just want to know, is there a positive aspect to having a brain wired like this? I don't know why it’s like this or if I’m still to this day even like that even half as much. But I want to find a way to use that part that’s within me for the good.

It would be easy to berate me. I’m looking for compassion here. Thanks in advance.
