Why do some women let their partners control each and every part of their lives?

I have witnessed so many women being belittled, mocked and even harrased by their partners in front of other people. The irony is that they usually tend to be more educated and definitely more well-rounded than their partners. I just can't wrap my head around how blind some people can get when it comes to love.

Controlling is a part of an abusive relationship for which separate "consent" is required... A lot of women in abusive relationships won't allow their partners to control everything and, in the end, are able to break the circle...
