What do you think of people who post bikini pictures on Instagram with philosophical quotes?

I find them to be just barely-masqueraded attention seeking.

A friend of mine and my wife does that all the time - posts a picture with a nice view of her rump with the caption "My mistakes don't define me, my leaning does" and so on. She has also this odd habit of sending you a (clothes) selfie when she blasts out the good morning texts.

I make fun of her with my wife sometimes, she says I'm an hypocrite because I too post the occasional abs picture (read occasional, one every 100 posts of my feed) and I'm being a bit too judgmental.

I just make good-hearted fun of this person more than judging her, she's a nice girl overall but I can't help but note that her profile description says she wants to "awake the mind", when her selfies obviously awake something else from the guys that follow her.

Its kind of like the era when Playboy Magazine tried to market itself as "cultured" because there would be a few articles in it on cars and literature.

Girls post pictures of themselves on instagram in bikinis to get attention and likes from people. Attention feels good. Being called out for weaponizing your body to get shallow attention from strangers however doesn't feel good. So some of them try to "class it up" like old Playboy and make it sound better. But it doesn't change what it actually is.

It may be attention seeking combined with philosophical quotes that indicate her mental/spiritual leanings. Smart, sensitive and beautiful.

But I don't see a problem with tasteful bikini pics like the one you posted. I view them as art with the human form as the subject matter. I think the female form is beautiful, inspirational and worthy of admiration.

It's too bad that people can't view the feminine form without feeling lewd or jealous. Why can't they just see it for what it is: beautiful art, ... as long as it is presented tastefully? There is even tasteful nude art.

It seems rather tacky to me. I don't see it as any more attention-seeking than to post the photo without the philosophical quote, but I think it cheapens the philosophical quote.

I actually think the most charming thing to do with such photos is to write something funny on them. That does, was that a typo here?

Exactly lol. Maybe you read the quote as an afterthough, but I think that when almost everyone sees such a picture, the first thought that crosses their mind is "ass". And maybe even the afterthought.

That said I admit that the good morning selfies are a cute idea - a bit self-centered, but she takes one for everyone whom she sends them to, so you know she took that one for you.
And they are much more tasteful than her ig pics.
