I’m struggling with something that’s been weighing heavily on my mind. There’s this girl I’m deeply in love with, and she assures me she feels the same. Unfortunately, due to our current long-distance situation, we can’t be together, despite my strong desire for it.

Recently, she’s become close friends with another guy, and I’ve noticed her doing things for him that she never did for me. Although she reassures me of her love and dismisses my concerns as overthinking, I can’t shake the feeling that her actions towards him signify something more.

So, I’m wondering, if she’s doing things for this other guy that she never did for me, does that mean she likes him more and doesn’t love me after all?

The thing is no matter what we say, you will not feel reassured until that distance is closed. Personally me and my boyfriend agreed we would keep the friends we had before getting into our relationship, but don’t make new friends with the opposite sex since we are together. It’s just a level of respect because why would I need to be getting close to another man when I already have one? Your girlfriend doesn’t respect you dude. Right now quite literally all you can do for her is pay her bills, since you can’t hang out or anything and that sucks. This man has more access to her and when you’re out of sight you’re likely out of mind. That’s why people say long term LDRs with no silver linings are fantasy relationships.

Should I just see where it goes and prepare myself emotionally for the worst?

No I would just end it all together. Can you truthfully tell me that you love her but you love yourself too? If so then you would be acting in your best interest, which you aren’t doing at all, you’re putting your love for this woman before your own well being. If you were really looking out for yourself, you wouldn’t jeopardize your mental health like this. You’d leave this woman alone until a future date where you can actually be together if she’s still available and trust god to assure that is what happens. But this right now isn’t healthy, it’s too much stress, probably depression inducing and hurtful, that’s emotional taxation my friend.

Ooh, girl, that's a tough one. There are definitely signs to watch for, like if she's withdrawn, cancels plans a lot, or doesn't seem interested in what you're up to. But it could also be stress, outside issues, or just needing some space. The best way to know for sure is to have an honest conversation. Tell her you care and want to understand what's going on. Communication is key!
