Why do men stare at a woman's butt?

I am pretty sure this has been asked before but I wanted to get an opinion anyway.

So every time I wear a short dress, skirt or pants that hug my butt... I know for a fact men stare at my rear. No, I don't have a humongous butt and I am aware that I possess a curvy, well shaped butt. I am asking this to get an idea what exactly is it men are thinking when they are staring at it.

This is a part of our own "animal instinct", because you do know we are an animal species. Have you ever seen, for example, two dogs when they meet for the first time? What's the first area they go for? The butt!. Of course, we (as a "civilized" species) can't go all the way on smelling the other person's butt. So, we stare at it. BTW, women also stare at men's behind but being a lot less obvious. This should be considered normal but our actual society is so "sexualized" and so focused on the erotic aspect that many people (men and women) are always looking at people's butts.

On the other hand, society (religiously or not) has this tabu on people showing their butts, genitals and women's breasts. Since the beginning of certain era, the human being covers those body parts while the other animal species don't (I seriously do not understand why). And, as we say here in my country: "what's forbidden, doubly desired".

any guy with a sex drive will stare, it would kill us not too, it doesn't nessisary mean we want to screw you, but it means we like your ass, even for me I would find it hard not to stare at a good looking woman period

I check out girls' butts. Though, I do it discretely, unlike a lot of men I've seen do it. I do it because they look hot. If they're wearing a short skirt, sometimes you catch a peak if they move in just the right way. If they're wearing something tight, you can see the whole outline. Consciously or subconsciously, I'm imagining what their ass looks like under their clothing.

I'm curious to know about older men, who seem to care less what age the girls are he looks at. My bf is almost 40 and I catch him looking at girls butts who are teenagers. I think it's gross to be honest. Is there a point when it gets old? Or out of line?

Something about the ass deals with hip ratio stuff. If your tushy is bigger you tend to have a more curvacious shape which men are inherently attracted to for youth / fertility / healthy womb reasons.

The woman's butt is a beautiful work of art. You may even catch women staring sometimes. When men stare, they are flirting either consciously or subconsciously. It is a social construct. At least in my case.
When I was around 11/12 years old I used to see men turning around and watch women's butts as they walk. When I turned around I didn't feel anything.

One day, I was watching some models on the TV with my best friend, and he was ecstatic about the girls' butts. I just said, "hmm" "aha" etc. Then, for some reason, I would imitate him and when I see a nice butt I do the same thing lol.
