Girlfriend of several months wants to be a go-go dancer, should I let her?

She told me that she will be auditioning to be a go-go dancer and model next week. She had been approached not too long ago about the prospect at a club. She would be wearing very short skirts and skimpy outfits.

Now I am unable to attend these events at clubs she goes to with friends. Can I trust that she will be faithful to me and still be able to work as a go-go dancer at clubs without worrying about guys trying to pick her up and her possibly hooking up with others?

First of all its not up to you to let her do anything, she can do whatever she wants. Yes guys will hit on her. Can you trust her? Well I don't know, she's your girlfriend only you can determine whether you do or not. If you trust her it has to be complete trust, which would mean you trust her no matter what her occupation is, who she's with, or whether you are there or not. Lastly, all other issues aside, would you be OK with this arrangement? That might just be outside your boundaries of what you deem appropriate and necessary in a relationship. I could see this being an issue for some men. My guy would NOT be OK with me having a job like that. And you know what? If he was OK with it, I wouldn't be dating him because I want my man to treasure my body, no one else. He gets to know he's the only one that sees me like that and if I ever do any dancing it will be for him only, in private.

It depends. Why does she want to do it?

Is she doing it to pay for school, her rent, her car payment, etc?

Or, is she doing it because she likes negative attention?

If it's for something legit, don't give her a hrd time about it because she may not see any alternatives. But, if she's just trying to show her ass off, let her go. Gross.

Is this something new that she just decided to do? Or have you known that she has wanted to do this for a while?

And I think this has nothing to do with whether you let her or not. She's probably going to do it. She will get plenty of attention from guys and maybe some girls. There is always a possibility of her being unfaithful whether she is doing this job or not. If you are not okay with that, you need to tell her that. If she still wants to do it, you'll have to decide if the relationship is worth keeping. Where do you stand with that?

Well she said that she'll always be faithful to me. She's not going to be a stripper, but more of a basic dancer for a club. You think just the fact that she's considering the job and going to work at clubs means that she's gonna hook up with other men?

I said job or not. I mean, job or not. Her consideration of the line of work is irrelevant.

I draw this conclusion from your statement, "Now I am unable to attend these events at clubs she goes to with friends." You are unable attend, but she has decided that isn't going to be her problem and go anyway. I think that explains a lot about her character.

No guy likes to see that happen let alone hundreds of them in a week. I wouldn't call it insecurity its more so temptation for her.

I would just be real careful here. Support her in the decision but then also make her aware that if anything happens where she is unfaithful on any level then your out of there

If she splits on you, then she wasn't worth it to begin with. Pretty simple I guess.
