I think being silly is a good thing. It shows you have a sense of humour and aren't afraid to crack a joke when necessary.
I love to be silly, and my boyfriend thinks it's great. I am also like you and can be quite serious sometimes. I think it's good to have some light hearted laughs once in a while. Nothing wrong with a little silliness every now and then.
Some people don't like it, but that's like everything. No one is going to like every single thing about you. But if that is how you are, then find someone who can appreciate that in you. I had several boyfriends before I met one that actually liked my silliness. And I feel more loved because of it! I know he appreciates me and isn't trying to change who I am to suit what he wants to project to the world.
It is not a bad thing to be silly every now and then but there is a time when it is not necessary or oyu do it all the time. Every now and then it is actually a good thing to be silly and not serious because being serious all the time is boring!

im the kind of person who is serious when he needs to be and goofy off the wall when the time is right, most of the time I crack jokes at the people around me and just try to have a good time, I get the attention of the ladies when I open up at the bar and such, but I'm not looking for a one night stand, so I don't really open up when I'm at the bar
I always wondered the same thing, but I know when to be serious, and when not to be.
Most of the time , when I'm with my friends,family , or girls, I'm always being silly and making jokes. I can be obnoxious at times, but most of the time its funny. ( Or people laugh at my jokes so they won't hurt my feelings) , Either way, everything has a trade off , no matter how you look at it, just all about being comfortable with the downfall.
