He runs away whenever he sees me, what gives?

So there's this guy who studies with me at uni, I could tell he liked me since I caught him staring at me a lot with a big smile on his face, and whenever I did he would look away quickly, he also had a problem looking me in the eye, I really regret my behavior back then because when I like someone I unintentionally turn kinda cold and I ignored him sometimes.

Anyways, new semester started and I noticed that something changed after I apologized for my behavior, he basically talks to everyone but me, he would offer things to classmates but never include me, he still looks at me but with a weird blank look and the weirdest thing - sometimes when I come near he quickly walks away, he did that last semester a couple of times but at least he kept staring and smiling at me in class, now his behavior changed completely, it's really weird because if he didn't feel anything he would just be indifferent in my presence and ignore me instead of walking away in such a dramatic way? Any idea what could cause someone to behave this way?

It seems that he really likes you a lot, though he might have moved on since you're showing a cold and ignoring attitude in the past.
