To show how much we appreciate all of the hard work of our GAG Editors, we will be selecting an Editor of the Month going forward. These editors have been dedicated to sharing quality myTakes, questions, and opinions throughout the month, while interacting with other users on GirlsAskGuys.

Though it's hard to pick simply one editor each month, we are excited to announce that @pavlove has been selected as our new Editor of the Month! That take on Donald Trump was just a comment dumpster. It has just one like, from god knows who, from the hundreds of opinions there. I'm sorry this just seems ridiculous.

This is just proof that GaG's "quality content" is only based on traffic. Pavlove has been chosen because he writes regularly, being able to write a semi-comprehensive piece on a regular basis is the ONLY thing that makes you Editor, the fact he's a wannabe Pick Up Artist who wants to write for a Pro-Rape site and who writes guides to how to coerce women into sex, how to label people as 'down to fuck' based on the trousers they wear, the fact he's not bright enough to see how dangerous his opinions are... it's just disgusting that you've chosen him as editor, let alone awarded his misguided efforts.

@GirlsAskGuys I think the community of GaG deserve an answer, I think you need to justify yourselves because this is WRONG. By doing this you're showing support for Pavlove's approach to women and encouraging others to listen to him. The boundaries of consent should not be blurred. People should not have assumptions made about their sexuality based on their leisure wear. They should not be taught that No often means Yes. GaG needs to take some fucking responsibility and stop pushing shit, damaging content so it gets more traffic. Stop hiding behind the idea of freedom to express opinions when you remove so many a day because they are offensive or antagonistic.

@Stacyzee I completely understand where you are coming from! I can see how the question of fairness arises with the gift card, but this is actually our first Editor of the Month feature. In the past, we featured Editors of the Week and awarded each editor 1000 Xper points when selected. Going forward, we will be featuring an Editor of the Month and will award each editor a $25 gift card.

There will be more ways to earn Xper points outside of the Editor series, so stay tuned for those!

@Stacyzee You were Editor of the Week not Editor of the Month (I was actually the first one... which is why you specify of 2016.) Two things to take away from this--First, I was the first ever Editor of The Week when they invented the concept they also chose me as the first recipient which is in the take they published announcing Editor of the Week was going to be a thing. Second, this should be good news to you because as you were chosen second (i believe) after me then it would follow that you will get chosen as the second Editor of the Month. So sit tight and be happy that we editors are getting more and more recognition as the people who provide actual content to the site (as opposed to mods who just report) even though it's me paving the initial path you are an important part of the editors journey

Each editor can only win Editor of the Month once per year. Though you have been selected as Editor of the Week already, you are still eligible to be chosen as Editor of the Month in the future :)

Also, this may not apply to you necessarily, but anonymous articles do not contribute to the selection process - For example, if an editor wrote 10 myTakes one month and 9 were anonymous, only 1 would factor into the selection, since we include links to the myTakes in the announcement post. You have a lot of awesome myTakes, so be sure to keep it up!! ;)

Although you were first in your original year , keep in mind I was not an editor then (so less competition = more chance to soar through ). I am an advocate of fairness. Now that I understand there is a system change once again, I completely comprehend why the rewards were different :)

They choose the editors out of a pool therefore once you get chosen i won't be of that pool since I've already gotten it, while i was chosen out of a pool that did include you. I'm not in the "pool" if I have not been posting as frequently as I used to. I really think their selection more as to do with who posts the most frequently rather than the content itself. In that aspect, of course I am no competition compared to you.

Like most of Gag's systems, they found flaw in the editor of the week so they decided to change it. Of course, editor of the week would have fell through the cracks because we only have so much editors here on GAG. What would happen in 3 months time when all editors are selected? They had to change their system. It makes sense to select 12 editors in the entire year.

I don't believe that who they choose is an indicator of who they find superior, but what i find troublesome is your ego. You seem to really get offended by the thought that they can like me more than you (whoever chooses the editor) that you would assume the reason you weren't picked was because of something that happened months ago when Ellen just started as head of editors/takes.

What i think you need to realize is that no one can judge you or give you value. When/if you get selected it should not make you feel better about what you wrote--how you feel about what you wrote should be all about the message itself and not about you at all. If you feel that you're a significant editor/user on this site, it shouldn't be because others say you are. If it does, you are being controlled, you are at their mercy, you need them to like you to like your work and even if thats only to a small degree, that's pretty sad. I'm not saying not to love the praise but don't build an ego around it

Editor of the Month isn't a badge that's going to make me rich, I am more focused on my future than about a rapid change GAG made. I've been writing since I was a teen, so whether GAG chooses me or not is irrelevant. It isn't their way of saying someone is better than who. This isn't a competition for favoritism, I seem to think you have that idea. I write for myself because It is something that contents my heart, and many others since I have followers that connect with me through my writing.
Your writings are dished out fast, but aren't as good content wise as mine. I'm not throwing any shade at you, nor was I going to mention this, but it seems as if you're trying to dig where you shouldn't. It's like Rihanna being compared to Whitney Houston vocally. You can visit your settings page to disable certain notifications. If you do not want to be notified when a user you follow posts a question or myTake, just uncheck the box for that notification and click "save." :)

@xHoneyxBeex I don't think there's an option for turning off notifications of new questions and takes from followers. If there is, I've missed it. I have set the options to the minimum for getting notification of essential events.

@dogbert444 yes, there is. If you look under the "Community" section there is one that says, "Someone you follow asks a question or shares a myTake." That's the one I'm referring to here. If someone no longer wants to be notified when a user they follow posts a question or myTake, they should uncheck that one and click save.
