I don’t plan to bend for the hate. I know that many of you don’t like my presence here because the site attracts a more conservative American public that goes to church weekly, that believes in saving themselves for marriage, that believes in traditional gender roles and having to repent for your sexual orientation if that is anything outside of the straight “norm”. A public that thinks that gender identity is bullshit and that transgender people are the product of a conspiracy on governmental level or the product of hormone disrupters in the water. Despite the bunch of medical evidence that debunks all these ridiculous myths and claims, many of you prefer to stick with what you have always known and been raised with and you immediately demonize that which you don’t know.

Well, let me introduce myself once more: I’m Elissa, 23 year old trans woman from Belgium and I’m here to stay. I’m planning on educating you all and making this website a more tolerable place for LGBT members. Whether you like that or you don’t.

Don’t like it? Don’t read my posts. Every time you read a post of mine and decide to leave a hateful comment, you are making a choice. You are giving me the time of your day, by reading what I have to say and by replying to it. If I’m that much of a sinner that you prefer to avoid me, why bother reading my posts? You might as well skip them.

One thing I would like to remind you of: I’m not going to bend for the transphobia.

I’m here to educate you. Throw as much or as little mud at me as you like :-)

Thanks to those who are allies of the LGBT community. To the rest, I hope you find the tolerance and the love within yourself to accept your own behavior. Treat everyone like you would want to be treated.
