I've seen many guys look a woman up and down and say - out loud - "They're a clean 5!" or "She's a 9 for sure!" or "That ass is a 10, but her face is a 4..."

Isn't it sexist that every time it's about a woman? Or even worse - a girl?

Many Mytakes on here rate women - supermodels - and they give out ridiculous numbers based on the way the 'male anonymous mytake creator' sees their face, hair, breasts, legs...

And the really funny thing about it is - they're anonymous.

They don't subject their faces, their asses, their bellies, their hair to ratings, but they're more than happy to rate others.

There is less realism there than in science fiction and more transference and insecurity behind that silly little mask than any of us could begin to imagine.

Women, girls, don't feel bad about yourselves because someone decides to put in their opinion of your looks - feel bad for that person, because they're the ones with no life and millions of insecurities eating them up inside.

I think the topic should be guy's behaviour because I intepreted what you wrote about guys specifically rating girls. Not once did I see you talk about girls rating guys. Also, you are talking about the behaviour of guys, wouldn't it be wise then to make the topic to about guy's behaviour? Just thought I should share my thoughts there.

I do question what exactly you mean by your whole premise of "feel the need to" do something. Because most guys, and girls, will give ratings if it was specifically asked for or the topic is about the girl's looks.

I wish you elaborated on what was specifically "sexist" about it being about a girl. It is sexist because the rating is specifically only to do with looks? Or is that "every time" a person looks are in question, it is a women's looks?

Either way, neither answers to the questions I proposed is "sexist", I would say merely feeling the need to rate looks constantly is a shitty thing to do.

And I disagree it's always about a women, they are a lot of men who post questions asking for a rating on their looks. Once again, I fail to see how this is a gender issue. If anything, both parties are guily. Pointing fingers saying "but men do it more" is simply preventing any sort of improvement to come about from both genders.

Yeah... This is a strawman argument simply because whether they are anonymously or not rating girl's looks is completely irrelevant to the action itself. And even if it does, you are indirectly saying that their actions would be "better" (not good but less worse hence "better") if they showed how they looked if they were rated.

And lastly...

We as humans, rate and objectify subconciously. Maybe men more so than women because men generally consider a girl's looks mostly when determining sexual attraction. Women generally add more things to the equation which could make it seem like women have "more moral high ground" because of this but it's just different.

Yea except this is time and again proven to be simply untrue.

An attractive person can give ratings to others' and it wouldn't change the fact that they are attractive. Every one of us WILL judge others based on looks. It's an unavoidable fact. Below average people do it. Above average people do it. You do it. Just accept it.

Plus look at reality for a second. You see extremely hot men and women alike judging the appearance of others. The way I see it, the only people who get upset over that are the people who vigorously chased after those guys/girls and got rejected.

And by saying everyone who rates others are 0's makes you a 0 by your definition. And yeah there's dudes who rate women who are insecure but saying persons who rate are necessarily insecure is also just false... Women can rate dudes, I see it fairly often (on the site, I've seen quite a number of these instances for example), I have never seen a guy complain about guys being rated to this date, sure it probably happens, just not remotely close to as often and dramatic as something like this post... That's my understanding of this, call me a**hole for it, that doesn't bother me.

Guys are more open about rating women, but women also rate guys. I hear it all the time at work. I work with mostly young women and teenage girls. That is far and away the group of people who apply for Movie theater jobs. They rate their male coworkers, they rate the guests. People rate people rate. I am not saying it is right, but it does and will almost always happen. Now while I will says guys are much more vocal and open it about it, even you as the author chose to rate people. And since pretty much eveyone at least once in their life will be asked to rate someone else, by your standard, everyone including yourself is a 0.
