My friend thinks my crush likes me, is she right? I don't think she is but yeah I don't know?

I have a crush on this guy. During first semester ( Sept. to Feb.), my crush and I had science together and I helped him through science. He was failing and I helped him get to an 86 by the end of the course. We spoke to each other every day. He always thought that I liked him so I went ahead and confessed to him in Jan. I told him that I know he thinks I like him and that it's okay if he doesn't feel that way back, I just want to be friends and get over the awkwardness. He said sure. He acted like my friend. Joked around with me and stuff. The last "Friend" like conversation we had was the morning before the exam. ( All our convos were through text - I was too scared to talk to him in person ). He wanted me to quiz him and I asked why I always have to be the one quizzing and he said, " cause you actually understand everything, you taught the class, not our teacher lol." I quizzed him and after that he said he was really scared and I sort of just helped him calm down and stuff. We had a lot of amazing conversations during semester one. In semester two we had geo and math together. He started acting really mean. On the first day of math class we had to do an intro activity where we had to get different people in the class to solve the math problems on our sheets and he asked me to answer one of his but other than that we didn't talk. I didn't bother messaging him because I didn't want to seem clingy and he didn't message me cause.. I guess he didn't need help. He did message me once though, asking for help for a geo essay and he was surprisingly nice that time, answering properly as if he actually wanted to talk to me. When I asked him for help for math cause I missed a lesson, first he wouldn't tell me the lesson that we had, then he wouldn't tell me the homework. Like he kept making me trying to guess what lesson we had. A couple days after, I asked what our geo homework was and we ended up joking around using Harry potter words/names. He's being mean again.

Oh and also, I asked him some questions about his religion for my religion project and I didn't trust google so I asked him for clarification. He started asking my why I was so interested and stuff cause he thought I wanted to convert cause of him.

well he's just using you just he could do his homework. I mean he's being friendly right? and he like talks to u and all but its about homework and wen his grades are finally up he doesn't need ur help and becomes a mean person then wen he needs help with homework he would ask u. yet wen u need help with homework he wouldn't even help at all. besides a true friend even crushes will help u with homework at school. I suggest that u get over him since it seems like he's using u in a way for homework. hoped I helped.
