Guys what does 'ain't worth a wank mean'?

Okay so this guy I'm seeing and I kinda got in an argument yesterday and things are shit and awkward between us atm. First off all after I messaged him (I had heard a friend of ours say that he was bored of me.) I jokingly messaged this guy and said about it and he got angry really quick I ignored his messages because I was out and didn't want to argue. He then took to a social networking site and tweeted about me saying 'girls with shit banter ain't even worth a wank.' -- what does that mean?

He also ended up going straight to bed after I messaged him even though he was supposed to be going out drinking with his friends? - why is he so effected by this? He also kept saying this is why we shouldn't even talk anymore.

We argue quite a bit but always end up going back to each other. What does his tweet mean? And how can I make this better? I really did just mean it as a joke?

"ain't even worth a wank." wank is masterbate ~ so its an insult, like saying she's not even worth jerking off too let alone anything else. or some might say something like, I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.
its all the same type of thing intended to insult.
