Why did he call me randomly?

Ok so me this and guy met almost a yera ago. We hooked up one night, and ever since, we'd hook up once a week. But ever since the begnning of the year we barely saw eachother, and would make the effort to ask to see me once a month. He was pretty much turning into a d-bag. I started giving him a hard time and playing hard to get. He kept beging to make it up for it and he finally thought of a fun plan for us to hang out all night long together. I told him I was free on Thursday and he said that's fine.

Then tonight, he randomly called me talk to me, and he never calls. He said he was infront of my apartment building and I freaked out. But he was just joking, and asked if he was actually there if I would let him in. He asked about my weekend and asked about what time he should come on Thursday and all that. We talked for about 10 minutes and we said goodnight.

Wth was that all about?

Maybe he had stress going on in his life that he had to take care of that's why he was more reserved, then again he might have started to like you more and hand out more so calling just to have a laugh. At the end of the day it doesn't necessarily mean he's in love with you head over ass, but then again he just might feel comfortable enough to randomly call. Instead of a booty call if he looks at you as a friend with benefit that's nice I believe
