Guys, Why do guys like to walk behind girls on stairs? I know there is an obvious answer but it that the only reason?

A group of friends went hiking and there was a set of stairs. One of my guy friends has a dog that kept trying to run in front of me. I offered to let him go in front of me, but he said he wanted to pause and walk behind. He waited a minute then was behind me again.

Usually because she just happens to be on the stairs when I'm going up or down them lol *shrugs* and I'm not gonna slide down the rails, jump over her or run past her to get in front of her lol. Or I'm just being nice and letting her go first, tis the gentlemanly thing to do.

And if I get on the stairs and a girl is already in front of me mile well enjoy the view.

I personally don't mind if I walk behind a girl or in front of her. But I offer to give her the way to walk ahead, because I still believe in 'ladies first' sometimes.
