My crush liked my instagram photo and then unliked it a day later. What does that mean &a why would he do that?

I have a crush on a guy at my university. He follows me on instagram and has like 2 of my pics. He like one the same day we followed each other and then he liked one that I posted yesterday but then I checked my likes today and his like was gone. He didn't unlike the other photo that he liked and he didn't unfollow me. Why would he unlike it and what does that mean?
(Btw, he told my friend that I was pretty he at least found me attractive).

He either did it by mistake or he simply didn't want to look that desperate by liking 2 of your pictures.
