But I'd like to know what you guys have to say about why men do this.
Why do men use condescending pet names?
But I'd like to know what you guys have to say about why men do this.
Men do this to other men also.
And women do this to men.
And women do it to women.
Because mean people are mean to other people, and it has nothing to do with gender. It has to do with people either being nice or mean.
Plenty of fucking guys are nice, and don't like to hurt anyone, and just want everybody to get along. And plenty of women are mean and vicious and cruel, and they might fake niceness, but it's just to get what they want, and they don't care who they hurt or how much.
And the Gender War that has you seeing all men as mean and all women as nice, or vice-versa, is an invention of the mean people to convert more nice people to their cause, which is more hate, more pain, more suffering, more strife.
I'm not saying women can't be mean, but i personally don't have as many issues with women being mean as I do with men.
Well I personally find the opposite to be true, I feel like girls are just better at faking niceness to get their way.
Because it gets you so worked up, that you go online to inquire about the behavior.
Because even though you are so "intellectual," you get caught up on the pet name instead of the point they were making. You lose focus, and now they control the conversation.
Either bite back, or be the bigger person and focus on the argument at hand and ignore the pet name. They will stop using it when they realize it is not fazing you.
This so much. The guy doesn't need to do anything anymore. The moment the OP reacts like a tantrum-throwing child, he won.
@FakeName123 once a guy calls you sugartits he's the one being childish
Ever heard of being the bigger man? Exactly. The moment you are incapable to be, you are at least on the same level. Most likely you are lower than him, because you took the bait.
@FakeName123 No I didn't let him forget the original article. I just laughed that he called me that because it made him look petty.
@FakeName123 I mean the original argument
My boyfriend calls me bae and other petnames all the time and I've never found them to be in the least bit condescending. I mean.. it's not like he's referring to me using petnames as her forces his dick into me or anything like that.
'Asserting dominance' using petnames? I'm really curious about the context in which your boyfriend uses these terms to refer to yourself now. For most couples, it's a 'pet name' because it's used as a term of endearment. If he's raping you/harassing you and using these terms to actually 'assert dominance' or actually makes you feel unsafe- break up with him and don't spend any time around him.
They're just being idiots. They're like when older people have no more argument against the younger person and just try to use their age instead. Oh silly little woman, you know nothing, I'm big strong man, stop with your hysterics and cook me some dinner.
Lol this always makes me laugh. You know they've lost any gained ground when they have to resort to this.
There are a few here in particular that do it when proved to be wrong

Be fair and tell us some of the condescending names and insults you use on them in conjunction with your dirty tricks and provocation. If those words ("sugartits" and "cupcake.") actually caused you to post this question, you aren’t fit to be the dominant superior that you envision yourself as.
I don't call names because I'm not 12.
it's how people like to argue really. once a person feels backed in a corner ie lost the fight or they simply don't care to listen to the crazy stuff the person is talking about anymore, ie a moot point. they use tricks and dirty play to unbalance the opponent. once this happens it's up to the individual to see it and walk away. chances are you won the fight but if you take the bait you lose. also I will take the direct asshile over a passive aggressive one any day of the week
Well you pretty nailed it with trying to assert dominance. But I wouldn't necessarily call it desperate as it can often work and be effective in conjunction with our persuasion techniques. Now whether it's immature or not to do that, well that's another question.
Because they think they can just dismiss your thoughts when they do that. What it really does is make them look like children.
Indeed.
"they think they are losing and feel threatened so they start swinging their claws so to speak. "
Women created that tactic, we are merely employing it against you every so often.

You should have just called me sugartits.
Not everything has to be about "Men and Women", guys do it to guys and girls do it to girls, guys do it to girls and girls do it to guys.
Guys might say something like "cupcake" and girls might say something like "sweetie".
People do this to other people all the time. It is not a gender thing.
Women have never done this to me.
I bet my anecdotal evidence can beat up your anecdotal evidence.
More competition from men, typical
I don't use that. Seems to me like a stupid attempt to discredit the opponent, also it makes yourself far credible.
And women backstab and gossip. I'd rather have a man tell me in my face than a woman talking shit behind my back while pretending she's my friend.
Not me. Men are annoying when they try to be superior in my face. At least women don't do that.
When they do it in your face tell them to fuck off. Don't let anyone make you feel inferior.
Well said!
May be they know that its ur weak spot!. There are trying to advance, nothing more than that.
Don't worry about it sugar. Just kidding. Its kind of a dominance thing
Thank you. Just wondering how many guys were willing to admit it.
I love cupcakes, I love my SO. Is it condescending?
man click on wonderer89's profile pic, she has a nice set of tits
men only see women show love to pets so they interpret that expression to be how women experience love and try to emulate it to communicate to women how they feel.
so we don't get names mixed up so it's baby and sugar
I think your analysis is spot on...
Call him the same stuff lmao "listen sweetie (:"
Your making a mountain out of a mole hill darling
I don't use them so don't know.
And that's why you are better than them.
thanks for the compliment.
Lies.
nope. when we use nicknames we get more attached to the person. I don't use any. I only say 'girl'.
