There's a guy I met through a mutual friend, I'd go to his place to play video games.

on one of the days he kissed me and when escorting me back home he held my hand. After that he went out of his way to come and see me where I lived which isn't so far from his place. I assumed he liked me and wanted a relationship but he never brought it up, I'm kind of shy and usually wait to for the other person to bring it up. I was alright with being his cuddle buddy cause I kind of liked it. After about a month of all that he slowly stopped talking to me and started acting distant, not wanting to talk and what not. I decided to just stop talking to him the day his responses to my messages seemed uninterested and one word answer type of responses. It's been 3 months and I've started talking to him again. I went over to his place last week to play some video games. And I just honestly miss the cuddles. So my question is. Would it be awkward if I asked him to be my platonic cuddle buddy?

Unfortunately, a vast majority of men are not satisfied with just cuddles but want also fornication. It is very difficult at your age to find a decent man that is also only interested in simply cuddling, without any perverted afterthought. Men in that age group are ruled by their testosterone and will, for most of them, want to go a step further and attempt to bypass the limitation set about being platonic.

It is sad that there is seldom a possible platonic relationship nowadays because the one or the other will want to ruin that nice friendship.

You may, of course, ask him to simply be your cuddle buddy. He might even agree but beware, this situation is not going to last long because as soon as he feels more comfortable with you again, he will try one more time to get into your pants.

I wouldn't be okay with being cuddle buddies, I think cuddling is a bit too intimate for me to not consider us more than friends. And no, not because men just want sex like these other people are saying, but because I would probably catch feelings and get clingy. To me that would be like having a girl kiss me every time we meet, only for her to call us platonic kissing buddies. It would hurt and confuse me.
