Why is everyone so shallow?

So this is obviously the same person, but I swear that if I posted the picture of her on the left in "how do I look?" at least half of you would say she is a 4 or 5/10 and if I posted the one on the right, you guys would say 9 or 10/10. But think about it: Girls, are you confident that without wearing makeup, you would still look like a 10/10. And GUYS, when you judge girls, or your girlfriends, do you think you would still rate them as high if you saw the without makeup? Don't you guys think that when someone posts a "how do I look" question, that they should be looking as real as they are?

I'm honestly not attracted to either photo, but in the first photo she's obviously exhausted and just woke up, not to mention the lighting is a bit odd.

For me, when I really like a girl, the things that make her attractive to me show through the make-up, and when I see her without it I don't really feel all that different. That's why people should use make-up to enhance their face, not alter it. If someone likes you with natural make-up then they're most likely going to like you without it.

Guys appreciate the extra effort of make-up, but they want a girl to look like herself, not a mask she puts on

I think that's to most hogwash assumption ever. Woman think men want this and the only people who say this is women to other women. Most men I know prefer natural. Imagine you had a big muscular guy and going back to your place. Then takes his clothes off followed by fake muscles. You'd be like wtf is this. Same thing when women alter their faces sooooo much. Less is more.

I agree less is more, but also think about it. If most guys sat at a bar and saw two girls (one wearing makeup, seductive clothing, and looked hot AND another girl not wearing makeup, wearing a hoodie and some sweatpants) they would most likely approach the first girl. Same for girls. Most girls like a guy with a real nice body and they are typically more drawn to them even if it is fake. They question is why do people say they don't care, but in reality they are typically more attracted to the features they said they didn't;t care about.

Because you're putting on a mask playing it as your reality. Sure yea you look good. But I mean if I saw one with heavy makeup vs without both wearing identical clothing I'd probably prefer the less makeup.

Exactly, and that's one of the reasons I walk with a natural face.
I couldn't care less if someone likes it or not, I'm feeling comfortable in my own skin like this, and yeah I've been considered a 8/10~10/10 due to my facial features and structure.

I find the no make-up image (left) more atracrive/beautiful. The image on the right might be hotter but I know it's constructed and fake which puts, me off. Show me the rawness and screw this plastic crap. No make-up pictures are the best. Unfortunately I feel that woman are taught through media that you can't be beautiful without make-up.

People always say this and post "shocking" slideshows of people with/without make-up, but 99% of them look about the same, maybe a 1 point difference. Guys do not care about make-up, we may be shallow either way, but girls are the only ones that think make-up is important.

I think everyone should post a just got out of bed look and a photo of them at their best look. That way people get used to the fact that make ups ratings by 3-4 points at least.

And other people fall for it "omg that super model's makeup is so on fleek, so looks so hot" and then a normal girl who doesn't cake her face every day gets compared to that. It's unfair to rate someone when they wear makeup because most people us it to construct, not enhance

I never understood that. I prefer the natural look. Makeup is just false advertising.

As for the woman on the pictures, my problem is that most models are ugly as fuck. Makeup or no makeup. Faces so angled as if they were cut with axes.. or too filled up.

The only model I consider good looking is Barbara Palvin. But that might just be because I am Hungarian too - and Hungarian women look good ^.^

But it's kinda the same problem again. Girls wear foundation and concealer and all this stuff because their skin on it's own isn't good enough. Very minimal girls haver perfect skin

She doesn't need perfect skin. This picture creates bias by design. It is, intentionally a very bad looking picture of a person. If her hair weren't pulled so tight, her eyes not so shut, her mouth not in a scowl, she would look much better. She looks like she just rolled out of bed.

Its not shallow. We are conditioned to see beautiful women wearing make up. The only women who don't need make up are white women with red hair/freckles and very dark skinned black women. Both have even skin tones.
