Do guys like being called adorable?

Question

So I recently discovered that my hubby gets annoyed when I call him adorable. I can't figure out why it bothers him so much, not that I'm going to stop doing it anyway I 'm just curious as to why. I asked him and he just says "I don't know, its weird".
Adorable to me is like a baby animal cute, cuddly and just looking at them makes you smile and want to love them.

Guys like to be called things that project the image of strength or masculinity or intelligence. Adorable, while it's "nice", isn't exactly in any of those categories, and it can be kind of emasculating.

I'm trying to think of a parallel for women, but I can't come up with a direct comparison. But, imagine a flatchested girl (who was always self-conscious about it) getting complimented on her flat chest, or a heavy girl being complimented about her large size, or a woman wanting to have a baby being complimented for her ability to have unprotected sex without getting knocked up. It's kind of a back-handed compliment. Again, not a direct comparison, but you get the idea.

Context is very important here. Adorable, as in, "omg you're so small and harmless. You're never getting out of the frienzone." Then no. This would be horrible.

But, if you meant adorable like "omg, you're so hot I just wanna hop on your beanstock." Then yes. This is good.

Basically, guys don't wanna be called anything that makes us sound harmless, child-like, and incapable of defending ourselves. We wanna be seen as strong and sexually desirable. Not a fucking cuddly baby. When was the last time you saw a women who wanted to fuck a baby? Hopefully never. Otherwise, ewwwwwww.

I could imagine it's the same as if you would call him cute.. I think most men who don't like that are afraid they are less seen as men when you call them like that. A man must be strong and brave and shit.. how can you call him adorable? 😮😜

I have been called that and at first I was uncomfortable with it. When I realized in her eyes I was adorable I was flattered by it. Just don't call me cute. Babies are cute. Puppies are cute. Guys are handsome or other similar things... lol
