Guy friend acting weird? Input appreciated!

So I've got a guy friend (mid 20s) that behaves weirdly with me a lot. Sometimes he'll talk to me when I see him, sometimes he's kinda moody. I noticed that he tends to do random stuff to get my attention. We don't really text a lot, and out of the blue, he texts me, ragging on me about something.

I saw him one night at work, and he was kinda quiet at first. I joked around with him and got him to open up and he was himself- joking around and all that. Later that night, he messages me online with something absolutely random, and signs off.

Since then, he's been commenting a lot on my statuses on Facebook, joking around/picking on me. He'll also comment toward my replies to any mutual friends' statuses as well (dun dun dun, he's following me around FB! :p).

Is it just his personality and him just joking around with me? He doesn't really keep in touch often, minus Facebook, he doesn't text me, and we haven't really hung out in ages (we didn't really speak/hang out much for a year due to a fight). Otherwise, I'd think he liked me a bit or something. Just wanted some guys' insight on the situation. I'm curious.

Whatever his deal is, I'm over trying to figure it out. He's been acting like a grade a douche and I'm over being nice. As far as I'm concerned, he was just playing games and getting off on reactions. He refused to tell me why he randomly unfriended me.

I think he likes you. I'm guilty of being like this towards a friend that was a girl. However, she didn't like me.. and I overblew the situation and f***ed sh*t up permanently.

She's still friendly, and I think she'd probably be willing to be friends again.. but I just.. can't. It p*ssed me off so much that she didn't like me, but acted like she did. For quite awhile too, I just assumed it was friends.. but it just built up.. then when I approached her about it.. I was shot down, and being the type of guy I am.. I got mad at her.. and wouldn't talk.. then she did the same and even blocked me on FB. So likewise I pretty much bombed her out of my life. lol And now.. Idk.. like I said I think she's willing to be friends again. But I just.. I liked her a whole lot.. she made me fall for her with all of it. And I think I still do like her, so I don't think being friends will work out. :/ Imma d*** basically.. but oh well.

Point is this guy sounds like me somewhat.. So idk.. expect clingy and such, if you like him though and what not.. he will be Extremely happy. lol Idk.. But I think he likes you.

Hmmm, that sounds too familiar. this happened to me recently with a guy friend I really cared about and now I'm devastated. He acted the same way u guys are describing but I received it as he didn't like me. And like my inquisitive self would ask questions just to get answers, I would ask him why he was acting that way and would not get a reply. So, I assumed he didn't like me and wanted nothing to do with me. Even though I liked him. And eventually he blocked me with no explanation or closure. I wish he would come back and talk to me.

And I only blocked him for a day because I felt like he's probably giving me the hint he doesn't want to talk to me or be friends with me ever again. And it hurts because I would do anything for him to come back and I'm willing to give him another chance.

My guess is that he wants you, in a sexual way, and he always has. Sometimes he will try to act on it and get your attention, sometimes he gets frustrated and gets mad at you for never figuring out that he wants you, sometimes he just decides "screw it" and doesn't contact you for a while, sometimes he'll change his mind and think he'll just be friends with you, then he'll feel attracted to you again and the cycle repeats.

Just a guess, I really don't have enough information to anything for sure, but that's a common situation with a lot of guys.

So the girl might always feel like they friends but they guy will probably (moe often than not) want to get it on with the gal? And why do you say I don't understand guys at all when I basically said what you did? "He wants something on the side but if he wanted to date you he would havw asked you"

I wouln't say guys and girls are never platonic friend (plutonic would be radioactive, lol)

"Never" is big word, but I would say more than half the guys who are "friends" with girls secretly want them, but they never make a move and are waiting for some sign from the girl that she'd be into them.

Its sad really, but it happens a lot. A Guy likes a girl, and thinks "I'll wait for the right time to make my move" then bam! 3 years have gone by and now they feel its too late.

Well, it seems as though you are enjoying the attention and hey, who wouldn't. But the reality is that if he wanted to ask you out he would have. Maybe he thinks you are cute and wouldn't mind getting a little extra on the side but like I said if he was really into you he would have done the necessary. The longer you continue to enjoy the attention the quicker you are going to get hooked and if he never ever gets to ask you out you are going to be heart-broken. Besides, guys are genetically programmed to enjoy the chase, if you turn around while he is chasing and slow down to watch him there is not much game left for him to play. You can say you are sick of games, so many people do, but it IS a game! Good luck gal!

@ZenSpace and JohnGPL - This guy is surely not a virgin who has never ever dated before. He knows how it is done - he is NOT doing it. You tell me why..He my like this gal. No guy can be THAT insecure that he just never ever asks her out! If he liked a girl enough he would move heaven and earth to be with her and keep other men away from her. I personally would not wait oround for some weird acting guy - my guy would SHOW me that he is into me and not leave me GUESSING.

@vindigal There is a big difference between how you want men to act and how it feels toactually be a man.

I don't think you can imagine how much a rejection hurts a guy. Especially when it happens at a young age. TONS of guys were nerd/unpopular in middle school. The first 20 times they approached girls they got their heart ripped out by being rejected and laughed at. So they got afraid to approach, they waited for some sign, cause it hurt...

You assume all guys act like the ones who approahc you, you do not realize that for every man who hit on you there are 8 who didn't.

Don't get me wrong, I wish these guys would shake themselves out of it and get back on the horse. They should approach. They're wrong not to.

But you don't understand men. TONS of men really like girls but are too shy to make a move. Very common.

I'd believe it with him. I know that he was a shy guy in HS and got taken advantage of/burned a bit, so the timid thing would make sense with him, as it does a lot of guys.

Some guys will do what it takes because they have the confidence, BUT there are also equally as many guys out there who are shy because of past experiences so they DON'T do what needs to be done.

I don't know if this means he likes you, but I do think he's trying to get your attention. Maybe he's trying to get back on your good side because of the fight, or maybe it's his way of showing interest in you.

You're right on that one. There's a long story behind it, but he wanted to be friends again, started acting weird (as mentioned above), and he just went crazy on me the other night., putting me down and whatnot. There's more bad than good with this guy. *sigh* For the time being, he's out of my life.

Yeah, he likes you. But the problem is, he's scared/nervous talking to you in person. His emotions are probably like a love-sick puppy.

If you give him a chance, expect clingy stuff to happen, like 2+ texts a day. As for now, he's too scared to make any actual moves. But who knows, maybe in some point in time he'll ask you out.

Facebook is passive, so he's OK with commenting on it. He feels a little more comfy doing it.

Actually, the clingy part wouldn't shock me at all. He tends to be that way when he's in relationships or into a girl. The entire thing confuses me because I've seen how he is with girls that he likes. He drops everything to help (which he might do if I needed him), and he's always in touch with them. With me, not so much.

I've grown tired of it, really. I was just curious what other guys thought of it and it wasn't just me thinking, "if I didn't know better..."
