Why do other people care so much that I'm single?

Does anyone else have this problem. It seems like other people care more that I'm single than I do. Personally at the moment I like being single I don't see why other people take it upon their selves to worry about it. My best friend says I need a girl so we can hang out, why can't he grow a pair and tell his girl that he wants to hang out with his friends and not stay on the phone the entire time when she actually lets him. My grandparents are worried, maybe he won't get married, is he gay, I'm 20 I don't want to get married at the moment, sorry grandparents but people don't get married at 16 any more and no I'm not gay. It's just so frustrating having to deal with this crap, just because I'm not in a relationship doesn't mean I'm broke, anti-women it's just that I'm happy not being tied down at the moment.

I am the same way... I am single and I L.O.V.E it :) But yes I know the feeling, a lot of people think that I have been single for too long and that I should be in a relationship! At the end of the day it is your life and if single is what you want to be, then so be it! Don't worry yourself too much about what your family have to say... maybe you can tell them the way I tell people in a respectful manner that " you know it is my life and I will make my own decisions as to when I am ready for a steady relationship, but for now I am single and I love it."

i have the complete opposite problem lol, my best friends boyfriend would ALWAYS talk crap about any guy I got with and tell me 'i don't see why your with him' and 6 months into my current relatioship brought his buddy to my house to meet me.

maybe just tell them

tell them your only 20 and want to have fun, and you'll settle down with a woman when you feel like it but you just don't want to right now

No not at all! you don't always need a girlfriend or boyfriend. People who do always need a boyfriend or girl friend are the people we should worry about haha. And be polite to your family and say its my life...

I just tell them that my private life is my private life, but I have to say I'm kinda limited when it comes to my grandparents because they help me a lot with college, you don't want to bite the hand that feeds you

I know what you mean! I'm in the same postion with my grandparents too. Just remeber though they are from a different time, My grandma got married when she was 17 and had 2 kids by 19! its just the way they thought they had to do

I used to know this guy who felt very, very superior to single people since getting a girlfriend. He's a punkass though and thoroughly whipped. And whipped is not a term I throw around.

Haha usually grandparents like to worry about you getting a girlfriend so that you can marry and that they can feel reassured that their kid is being taken care of.

For your best friend, I kinda agree with what you said, he shouldn't be pestering you to get a girl just to hang out. (How odd).

I think being single is awesome. There's lots of nice things to do being single. Some people can't bear being single and are always on a lookout for gf/bf.

Apparently he's not aloud to hang out without her and it's just weird just being the 3 of us so I need a girlfriend so we can double date. to be honest if I did have a girlfriend I honestly don't want none of them to meet her, they don't know how to control their mouths

Hmm so weird.. that he is not allowed to hang out without her. He should really ask for some trust from his girlfriend to hang without her sometime, instead of asking you to get a girlfriend lol. Kinda unfair.
