I am 19 year old and i am only 5"6' (168cm) . Personally I like being small. If I could magically be taller it would be only because I ride motorcycles and i'm a too short for some bikes. Having a girlfriend that's taller or shorter than me isn't important to me.
You wanted to leave just because of a 3 inch difference? That's why. I'm 5'4 but just accept it. A lot of women think height impacts what kind of guy you are and it doesn't, that's why a lot are insecure and probably why he said he was 6ft
Its dumb bc he is pretty much average in height. He is 1-2 inches taller than the asker who is 5'7... He's 5'8-5'9. Also... Dumb bc they planned to met.. As if she wouldn't notice he is shorter than what he mentioned
@cosmicc exactly. I would have swiped right on him/wanted to meet him anyway because I think he's very attractive; it's dumb he had to lie about his height
Lie, and lie. I'm like a politician every day when I'm out who wants to win an election. I even say "Hi," to dogs and cats. Humans? I flash my white teeth to people. Lol. That's how crazy, ridiculous I am. Of course, I wouldn't smile at funeral services. I smile where it's appropriate.
no not lie and lie, i will admit i forgot the word "most" that was supposed to go infront of "women", but it's true, women be around 5'3 wanting a guy that's 6'0 and over and they laugh at guys shorter than that.. it's ridiculous, at least you're willing to aknowledge short people lol
I think people lie about their age/height/weight on dating sites and social media all the time. Why... I don't know. I'm sure they have self esteem/confidence issues
Because women make such a big deal about it. "I was going to leave but out of politeness I didn't". That says it all right there. If you had known he was as short as he was, chances are you wouldn't have gone out with him in the first place.
We are beacuse every time girl talk about the most attractive things in a man, you say "a tall guy". So, we, the small ones, feel that we disappoint that expectations
Masculinity stereotypes. It's considered "manly" to be tall. You'd be surprised how many women won't date a man shorter then them. It's stupid, but it's there.
Exactly I'm 5'9" I'm an approachable guy I don't stare I teach kids I'm not the worst looking bloke but I get told I'm not tall enough they prefer guys 6 ft and that's it end of convosation like that's all that matters
I have nothing to worry about in the height department. But i don't know, could it be that maybe girls make height such an important trait that it would make a short guy feel very insecure?

I think she wanted to leave because he lied about something so dumb.
It's not necessarily dumb when 90% of women ask for a tall man and most guys are not even 6ft , most guys I know are around 5'6 5'7
Well testosterone levels do impact muscle development and height so I think that’s one of the reasons height is a factor.

I actually know a guy of your height who is actually doing great in life. He was my biology tutor.
Because he thinks that he has little chance with women if he is shorter than 6'0.
now adays women seem to only want to be with tall guys, they see a guys height is 5'4-5'8 and they don't even get a hi, it's quite sad

I'm 6'1, which is about average for men in my country. Never had to lie about or feel insecure.
wow 6'1 average? where are you from? Sweden or Netherlands?
Good guesses. I'm from The Netherlands.
I think people lie about their age/height/weight on dating sites and social media all the time. Why... I don't know. I'm sure they have self esteem/confidence issues
You answered it yourself. Because most women prefer taller guys.
Because women make such a big deal about it.
"I was going to leave but out of politeness I didn't". That says it all right there. If you had known he was as short as he was, chances are you wouldn't have gone out with him in the first place.

You question has the answer too.
I don’t mind if he’s smaller then me
How tall are you?
@RaceAgainstMachine 57
Masculinity stereotypes. It's considered "manly" to be tall. You'd be surprised how many women won't date a man shorter then them. It's stupid, but it's there.
I never had to lie about my height. But women are pretty harsh about height
It's because women put a lot of emphasis on height when it comes to men
Exactly. True.
Were you wearing heels? That would make sense if you were.
No I flats/sneakers. I'm 5'7 and 3/4 barefoot
Because a lot of women won't even speak to a guy under 6 ft so he thought the only chance he would get is if he lied about his hight
That's the truth if you're not at least 5'9" and three quarters you're not tall enough to ride.
Exactly I'm 5'9" I'm an approachable guy I don't stare I teach kids I'm not the worst looking bloke but I get told I'm not tall enough they prefer guys 6 ft and that's it end of convosation like that's all that matters
that's ridiculous. of course I'd speak to a guy under 6ft. I know lots of guys below 6ft. I wouldn't speak to a liar tho
@FractiousMoss: maybe your personality is off putting?
I guess I'm a bit out there what kind of personality traits is off putting
Why would you even wanna speak to a woman who wouldn't speak to you if you aren't tall?
I know what you mean it's true it's just hard to find people to talk to these days and also it's that worry about getting done for harassment
Cause girls generally like tall guys.. Same with girls about their looks
I have nothing to worry about in the height department. But i don't know, could it be that maybe girls make height such an important trait that it would make a short guy feel very insecure?
Well he lied about three inches now the question in the matter is if he will lie about his " other three inches"
hahaha
I am 5'4'' I am insecure I think many boys and girls are taller and physically stronger than me
>when the answer to your own question is in the question
