Why do girls act like they don't notice me?

I think I"m really good looking, and I've been told so too. But girls appear to never notice me at college. Do girls purposely ignore guys and act like they don't exist hoping they will come and talk to them?

I ignore guys that I find attractive so that way I protect myself. I mean I know it's hard from your prospective to tell if a girl has a boyfriend or not, but I always have the luck of getting to know a guy and then finding out that he has a girlfriend of 1+years. Also take into consideration that you are in college and maybe the kind of girl that you find attractive is always preoccupied with her classes and not necessarily interested in guys/girls that are around her.

So in my opinion some girls don't ignore you so they could get your attention, they just ignore you to protect themselves and avoid any confrontations. Call me old-fashioned, but if you like the girl then perhaps you should find the courage to talk to her.

i think I'm one of the nicest guys around, and find that most (white) guys that are very good looking, are some of the nicest guys there are. its the average guys that act like douches, cause they need to get attention somehow.

Well sometimes girls don't want to seem too clingy at first sight. Guys like a chase and we know that so we purposely ignore guys so they would be more interested. And maybe because since your cute they feel intimidated and are afraid to approach you. Or maybe you come off the wrong way and give off a certin vibe. I'm not quite sure but I hope this helps. :)

its true, girls may notice you and think you are attractive, but we tend to try and convince ourselves not to act for whatever reason because they arn't confident themselves. They could assume your taken, assume that because your attractive you must be arrogant, or be a player, or just generally feel intimidated. it takes YOU, to talk to them and show what kind of person you are. as soon as you make that effort, I'm sure they will be into you

I used to do that a lot. For me it was a defense, I don't know what I thought I was accomplishing, maybe I didn't want anyone to think I was to in to them, or think I was to egar so I'd play it cool hoping they would come forward if they liked me.
