Are shy guys typically sensitive to teasing?

I have a crush on a shy guy and we talk often but when I go to flirt with him, I tease him abit saying his abit of a troublemaker. Obviously joking because his the sweetest person ever but he just shuts down abit or he doesn't know what to say so he brushes it off with another topic.

Its kind of sad that he can't poke fun at himself from time to time. Id never bully or taunt anyone, and Id never tease anyone who doesn't like to be teased. But I was wondering if this is typical behaviour and how do I manage someone who can't handle teasing?

If I were you I wouldn’t do it. Teasing shy people will rarely do you any good and in some cases you can actually end up hurting the other person. For example I’m extremely quiet around women because I was made fun of by them so much growing up and even still now. I often have women try to call me out for being so quiet and it always makes me want to stay as far away from those people as much as possible.

Think about it this way if you were shy or struggled with something would you want to be teased for it.

That is true. Thank you for the insight! It is just my way of flirting with guys, I like to know they can poke fun at themselves too. It makes me feel we are both human and not some demi-god lol.

How would you of preferred to be flirted with? I could give him compliments but he usually brushes then off

Honestly the best way is to just walk up and say hi then ask about his day or something. You may have to initiate a couple times but after that you should be good. Oh and if he acts weird don’t worry about that cause he’s probably to used to girls approaching him.

Oh and ask him questions about him and his interests. This is probably where a lot of people fail when it comes to shy people. You really do have to make them feel like they are good enough

Shy girls are the same they can't mentally take teasing. I was crushing hard on my shy friend and I teased her about being sued blond and having a harder time studying. She degraded herself saying she was just dumb and now is so shy around me.
