My guy friend accidentally called me babe... He has a girlfriend?

Basically one of my best friends is a guy. We've been friends for two years and we tried dating in the very beginning of our friendship. It lasted a month and didn't work out. Figured we were better as friends. Anyway, he moved away and is in a serious relationship with his girlfriend. They live together and have been dating for a little over 6 months. I am very happy for him. He and I have kept up our friendship and talk almost daily - there has never been anything flirty or sexual (besides the time we tried dating 2 years ago). The other day he had called me to catch up - and in the middle of the call, he accidentally called me babe. Not only did he call me babe, he didn't apologize or take it back. I just laughed it off, but now I'm worried. Should I be? (he normally calls me dude or bro, like I'm one of the guys) Am I reading too much into this? I have never accidentally called ANY of my friends babe... (not looking to date him/ break up him and his girlfriend).

I dont think you should worry about it. People call each other the wrong things/names all the time, when they say a word/ name often. He might not have noticed it, or he hoped you didn't notice

It could mean something but also it might not. Honestly, that seems like something I would do. I've called my mom dad and my dad my female friend's name, as well as plenty to other mix-ups.

I've accidentally called a guy friend babe even. It's just a habit from saying babe too much just like in school when a student would accidentally call a teacher mom.
