So, a guy from my college and I have been with each other for a while but we never officially went on a date. Just hanging out together and being affectionate. After talking to each other in the lockdown for almost everyday, he asked me out on a date. We have kissed before but never been officially on a date. So we went on a date in the morning right before his interview. He had an important interview right after but we didn't cancel our date. We met, had coffee. He even noticed my eyes. We clicked pictures but we didn't hold hands or kiss. I sort of expected him to initiate kissing like he always pulls me towards him but he didn't. I know that we were in a public place and where we are from, it is taboo to kiss in public. But it has taken a toll on my self confidence. I have started to blame myself as if I didn't look pretty enough. We fought over it because I took this personally and he said that he was nervous for his interview and someone had severe health problems in his family recently. I did see his hand trembling a bit because of anxiety over the interview but I have not been able to get over it for a month.

I think you are over thinking things. Just because someone doesn't kiss you or hold hands or anything doesn't mean they don't like you, it just means they didn't want to do it at that time.
He said he wasn't feeling it because he was nervous for his interview and because its taboo. Don't take it to heart.
