More recently he’s been doing things like staring at me (and when I turn to look at him it appears as though he thinks, “I’ve been caught!” And looks away. He does this all the time. He goes out of his way to do things that I can very clearly do myself (handing me a single bag of peanuts for a customer just as an example. I literally was already in the process of grabbing it!) He will come over to wherever I’m at, and sometimes he smiles at me, other times, he just kinda stares. Today even, he gave up his chair for me during a break. Not even a “do you want to sit here”, no. He just saw me looking for a place to sit and immediately told me I could take it. I’m so frustrated that he’s doing all of these things, but at this point (and we’re running low on time because this is a temp job) he hasn’t tried to initiate anything! So I’ve taken it upon myself to try and get the ball rolling.
I let myself look at him- I tried to do a favor for him yesterday. I’m trying to do the things he does for me. But I’m getting so pent up, I just want to shoot my shot. So, what would you all do? I’m pretty set on asking him if he wants to get lunch before work next week. But I’m afraid that perhaps what I’m seeing isn’t the truth. How should I approach this scenario? I want something to finally move forward. A guy who makes me laugh, bends over backwards for me, and just does nice things in general? He makes sense.
