Guy's Behavior

Guy friend keeps flirting with me even though he knows I have a boyfriend. What is his intention? Should I distance myself?

I met this guy in a class and we became friends. I enjoy his company and we’ve hung out a couple of times. I think he’s a playboy and a womanizer. He have told me stories about his experiences and previous relationships. I have made it clear to him that I am in a relationship and I love my boyfriend. He told me that he’s interested in another girl so I thought I’m safe. However, I noticed that he keeps flirting with me, but told me that he’s just messing and joking with me. Also, he had mentioned a few times that I’m pretty and I’m his type. Usually I just try to ignore his flirting or try change the topic.
So, is he into me? Or is he just messing around? Should I stay away from him?
Ps. My boyfriend knows that I’m friends with him and does not mind if I hang out with him. We have each other’s trust.
