Whistling and weirdness?

Ok so there’s something kinda odd going on between me and this guy. We work together and he has started whistling a melody every single time (!!) he walks past me and sometimes lingers near me like he’s waiting for me to notice him but he doesn’t attempt conversation or anything when I do. He doesn’t act like this with anyone else and is completely normal/social with others (even our stunning 22 yr old coworker so it’s not a woman thing). I’m fairly introverted and would’ve initially judged him as being confident. Could he actually be shy and tryna get my attention? The whistling, it’s so annoying!! Why? 😂

Also, there is this weird awkwardness between us that I can’t shake but I’m not sure if it’s in my imagination. Its like sometimes we’re both intentionally cold with each other and it isn’t just my introversion at work.. it’s objectively noticeable on both sides according to my friend but she says the body language usually is positive with mirroring etc. What do y'all think this could be? I do think he’s kinda hot but we’re both too old to be playing attention games if that’s the case.

How would you be making an idiot of yourself? If you are interested, then talk to him. Everything you mentioned could be anecdotal, don't waste your time on it.
