Why would a guy friend zone a really hot girl?

Is it possible for a guy to friendzone a girl who he considers really hot or attractive and go out with someone he considers less physically attractive? Guys, have you ever friendzoned an 8, 9 or a 10? Why did you do it if so?

Are you this lady? if so, YES, it is possible, because:
1. He thinks you are unstable, "Don't F*** Crazy" is a maxim among men today
2. He has resigned himself to the fact that you would never choose him anyway
3. He realizes that temperamentally and in terms of worldviews, you two would just clash too much.
