Why does my crush text me on snapchat but leaves my snaps on opened?

so my crush and me talk a lot at school, he's showed all the signs of liking me and he comments on my ig posts. we were texting on snap and he'd answer right away. i said something that kind of ended the conversation, because i didn't know what else to say. he replied with a snap of him agreeing to what i said, and smiling. (please keep in mind he has a really low snapscore, and i can tell he's NOT the type to do streaks, he's also rarely on the app) i got so used to replying to people's snaps that i just decided to snap him back, but he left me on opened and now im overthinking it so much!! does this mean he thinks i'm weird, or is it that he just doesn't like snapchat/streaks?

Usually, when a person uses snap they look at it all. If he communicates on one app but not the other it could mean a lot of things. Sometimes you just have blatantly ask. Have you talked with him about it all?

Maybe he has hack to watch snaps without changing status? What is the point of snapchatting otherwise.
