Is He Ghosting Me? He would be online and send me pictures sometimes, but rarely respond back?

I am sure he is, but not so sure. I've known this guy for a year now and we used to talk daily. The last time I've hung out with him was almost 2 weeks ago, but I've noticed he is becoming distant. After we hung out, we remained in touch until a week ago, he become distant.
For example, I'd send him messages or memes, he would just read it. Yesterday, he shared a reel on IG and a selfie back on Monday. There were a few times I'd ask him a question and he would just read it without responding. This early morning, I received a Snapchat from him. When I opened it, I could see that he removed the picture but left the surprised emoji. I sent him a question mark cause I was puzzled. He read it an hour later without responding. I haven't said anything to him since this morning since I felt I was bothering him, but... gosh, it hurts. I genuinely care for him, but I sensed that he is not wanting to keep in touch with me much longer.
I know he told me that he dislikes social media but has no problem being online or having his active status hidden. I also noticed that he has removed one of the pictures of us taken back at the Halloween party off his IG. I didn't bother asking cause I didn't want to appear nosey. The last time we hung out, he did mention that we should go hiking next time when it's warmer out and I agreed. He also hugged me and told me to let him know when I got home. He is currently in school and I knew he had exams to take, but I figured he had already taken them. Why would he leave me on reading or just delete the pictures shortly after sending them? I'm confused.

Not sure if he’s ghosting you but keeping the lines of communication open with you clearly is not a priority for him right now. I would not blame his actions on school or being busy because in the moment he reads your messages he can reply too, and he is not too active to be on social media. Honestly I’d say to redirect your focus from him the best you can and be a little hard to get whenever he does come back around, rather than letting your excitement/happiness launch you into replying. It can’t be this important for you to remain in touch while he’s not giving a shit, leaving you on read and whatever. To be honest I feel like that’s disrespectful and you should not give him the opportunity to pick and choose when you are going to matter, walking in and out of your life. All this to say: move on from him, leave him on read, let him go. You’re better off without being treated like this.

I do agree. I do deserve better. I do sense that there is someone else involved and he is using his time to communicate with her. I could be wrong, but I do not know. However, I know I will need to shift my focus elsewhere. Thanks for the advice.

Even if there was someone else, he could at least tell you, you know? It’s just flat out mean to act how he’s acting and I’m sorry you even have to hurt over this. But I’m sending you all the healing energy and positivity as you move past this guy. On to better things❤️

but it sounds like he's pulling away for whatever reason
i would probably do some 'letting go' techniques
meditate on his happiness or whatever
