Is my younger brother a dying breed, a unicorn?

He just turned 18 but always sounded older than his age. His level of empathy towards others and animals seems higher than the average person. For instance someone lost $500 and instead of keeping some (he had the chance to), he returned it back. He's exactly the male version of the Ms Goody Two Shoes; uncorrupted; no malice in his mind. He doesn't have the guts to be a player. He's the type that thinks about others more than himself.

I'll admit, he has more manners than me and other guys his age. If he sees his own gender using others, he'll call out on it. He doesn't even know what a beer or wine taste like. He would be suitable for a girl that wants a family.

If he wasn't my brother and was in his early 20's... I would've snatched him early on. I just hope he gets a good, sweet girl that doesn't corrupt him, that appreciates him. Hopefully. Is he a rare breed?

"Doesn't have the guts to be a player". Think about that for a while and really examine it. I had a girlfriend tell me once (in front of friends) that I was too scared to cheat. I didn't like her explanation of exactly what she meant by that, so I sent her packing because she had too high an opinion of herself and no respect for a good man. I end relationships when I want to cheat... and that statement made me want to cheat.

Kinda foolish to call a man a pussy for being a good man. But that's why he a unicorn. You ladies have a way of taking a good man and making him resent being good

I made that comment about him because I find that cute and sweet in a guy. I'm currently single because I don't want to get burned by players. If only he wasn't my brother and was older, he would be perfect.
I find it ironic that in a woman, those traits would be admirable and a turn on but not too much in a man. I just hope and pray that the girl that gets him doesn't destroy him nor ruined his views on life and people. I don't want him to then turn into one of those ''bittter, red pill'' man.

Dying breed, probably, unfortunately while you say you would have snatched him up if he wasn't your brother, the majority of women will probably ignore him at best, or try and use him at worst. Those traits don't seem to be valued anymore, so for his sake I hope he has a strong will.

To be honest, I'm single because the guys in my area are trashy. A couple of girls my age aren't any better either. Yes nowadays, more people are trashy.
I just hope he finds a good girl and it would be a match from heaven.

I've seem him help anyone (regardless of gender) in need, even if someone was unattractive. I don't think that fits a nice guy description. The ''nice guy'' would only be helping out an attractive girl in order to start a relationship with her, only to things to get something in return, for his own selfish needs while turning to be nice. I don't see that in him.

Not really. A "nice guy" does this as a transactional Change: if i help people, I feel good that people think I am a helpful guy AND one day, they will help me too.

Has there been a time when he has been selfish? Selfish in a healthy way, like asking for sweets or asking for his favourite dish to be cooked etc

Probably only when he was a toddler/little kid that wanted cookies and chocolate and would get them if he was on his best behavior. As he got older, his attitude and good manners became natural.

To be honest: i am 90% convinced that he is a nice guy (you as his sister cannot really judge him accurately because of family bias AND your friends will probably lie to you if you ask them about your brother because they want to be in your good books)

Let him live his life, only the world will tell whether he is a genuinely caring person or a "nice guy". Support him however you can

Nope. He's like the female version of the goody girl. It's ironic that if he was a girl and had all those qualities it would be an admiration and of high value but it isn't treated the same when a guy is like that. Sounds like double standard right there... a girl can be goody and virtuous but not a guy.

The difference is that Ted Bundy already had traits of a psychopath as a child. He used to bullied other kids, set a cat on fire when he was 8 and laughed. He was already torturing animals and no one in the family cared to take him to a psychiatrist. So it's no surprise be became a serial killer and could fake charisma.
My brother as a child showed none of those signs. He was caring and loving towards animals.
