Guy's Behavior

Is he trying to make me jealous or am I wearing rose coloured glasses?

So I've been in a situationship with this guy for 6 months now. I genuinely think that he deems me special. He is really thoughtful, calls me all the time and tells me that he loves me. He told me that he is scared about being exclusive because of his past relationship's wounds. He sometimes says some offensive stuff about him leaving me and when I say I'm okay with it he says he was just testing me. Knowing how much he likes to "test" me, I wonder if what he said the other day was a test as well. A few days ago we went to a party together. The next day when we met up he asked me if I got anyone's number and called them later. He specifically asked me this because a few months ago I got some guy's number and he saw that he was calling me. I jokingly told him that he would do much more than getting a girls number if it were him. He told me that he would not do it because it would be offensive to do it in front of me. This remark really pissed me of and made me extremely jealous. But then I thought, if he is so concerned about offending me why would he tell me that he would do a lot of stuff if I weren't there? Can you tell me if I am wearing rose coloured sunglasses because sometimes I can't tell if I am trying make excuses for him.
