Why hasn't he asked he out yet?

I've been messaging a guy on a dating app for over three weeks. He keeps talking about all the fun plans he has and what he does on the weekend but has never asked me out. Like for example, a few days ago- he asked me if I liked Thai food and showed me a picture of what he ordered. He didn't ask me if I wanted to get Thai food with him. He told me we have a lot in common but hasn't taken the initiative to ask me out. What does this mean?

Could be either, might not be sure if you're ready to move off app, or might just be enjoying the conversation but not seeing it going any further.

Just switch it around and ask him out instead, at least you'll have an answer, but if he does go for it, might be worth having a talk about his hesitancy going forward (not in a blame way, just a "you know you could have asked me weeks ago, was something up?") so he might feel better about moving things forward down the line if everything goes right.

It could be either really but the fact that he’s still talking to you makes me think it’s probably cause he wants you to ask him out
