Yes, I actually mean it. We all know that saying "I would take a bullet for you" but would you really do it? The condition is that neither her nor you will die getting shot, just have real pain and probably serious injuries.

I have lost almost All sense of pain within my flesh
Joints and bones? Not so much.
I've had boiling water poured on me multiple times in the same day (wasn't fun) burned myself on wood stove
Then I put my hand on a hot stove (I had already lost most feeling in my hands by that point and I was in low point in my life due to abuse)
I have broken multiple bones but not at the same time (doesn't feel as bad as you'd expect?)
Has to re locate my own thumb (not a story I'm going to talk about)
Got a gangrenous finger when I was younger however we luckily caught it at an early stage so the worst I got was a scar which is now gone
I've gotten struck by a car on multiple occasions including having my foot ran over and also a back injury all the other times I mostly just got scrapes oh and a rock stuck in my in my knee for the second time the first time being during soccer in the middle of a parking lot that had a very conveniently placed Rock
I've had pains my whole life

I'm not saying I'm going to enjoy it and that it's not going to hurt like hell but I hurt like hell all the time anyways and honestly I've gotten to the point in my life where pain is just something fun and no longer something I fear unless it's wasps or mosquitoes and stuff like that so bastards I hate them I have childhood drama cuz I'm severely allergic to them and one time I got stung and it was horrible luckily it was on my foot so my heart didn't stop but it still hurt like hell and I couldn't walk for like the next day or so so yeah

For a girlfriend? Nope. For a fiance or wife if she's the innocent victim in the situation. If she started drama/kicked some random dude in the nuts for no reason, I'm eating popcorn. And my wife knows 1000% that's how I live. But she's also smart enough not to start drama like that.

I say "for a fiance or wife" because I'm not the type who would elevate a woman to those levels just because she looks good. She needs the right character and for me that's traditional... not feminazi with short green hair & talking down to men or any of that bs.

It's easy to say we would. But it's hard to think when you have a gun pointed at you and your husband. As much as I love my husband I also have to think about my son who bio dad already died and how losing his mom too would mess up his world.

I would do everything I could to protect my husband that wouldn't risk my life. I feel my son and stepdaughter are the ones I'd risk my life to save.

So this question was meant for guys but if someone pulled out a gun in public and I saw before my significant other did I would try to pull them down to the ground with me, maybe tell them gun quitetly (or talk ahead of time about a code word for gun since these things are happening more and more). Sometimes yelling "gun" or "shooter" is bad because it makes you a target for the shooter.

Dunno. Logically, if I die my life insurance would pay off the mortgage, my pension would pay out nearly £100k, but then they wouldn't be left with any income (OH has heath issues so dosen't work, and not married yet so widow pension wouldn't payout). OH may struggle with raising two young children on her own. If she died I'd have to find a way to juggle child care but otherwise I could cope with kids.

There are many ways in which bullets can fly.
I will certainly do my best to get my girl out of harm's way.
But if I get myself (purposely) hit - and the attacker continues... then I will have no chance to continue myself. If I get hit during ''action'' - that's ok; I can handle pain.
However - ''my'' country isn't primitive enough to face firearms on a regular basis.

She is literally my other half and I would describe her as my actual soulmate. A relationship like ours is rare but it does exist. My life would not be worth it without her. I stopped giving a fuck about females as a whole a fee years back and would not take a bullet for anything female.
They are entitled, privileged, and spoiled. The expectation of men losing their life for them is a major turn off, knowing they would NEVER do that for a man.

Really? That's surprising to me because anytime something potentially dangerous comes around and I am with my wife, my reaction is to automatically shield my wife. For me it's feels like a biological instinct to protect women in general actually so I just figured most guys were like that too.

@Jay13496 Most guys probably are protective of their families. We've been married for a long time and over the years I've had a couple of situations that I was able to observe what would happen. The first time I was abandoned in a dangerous situation, I was really upset. Now I realize that he's not in control of his response.

So this is why I always get freaked out when someone comes near me.

Like, we have a cat. That cat always comes near me and touches me and it really freaked me out, like chest pain freaking out.
Also happened when my friend was just watching me brush my teeth and I looked at him. It was the first day of gym and I was kind of sleepy so did not notice him earlier.

I always thought that when in dangerous situation, I would react with violence. Like slapping a cat on his head. But not... It is exactly opposite.

If you had a tude when he did that.. that you're leaving him and starting the divorce process unless she changes, he might be singing a different tune. The only reason guys who grow up to be protectors are like that is because they were raised to be that way. Your husband wasn't 100% raised in my opinion. Of course you may not want the confrontation/hassle of completing his training... that his parents should've done.
