They tried to save their girlfriends but did they actually know they would be shot? Guys, would you do this? Not just protect your girlfriend, would you knowingly take a bullet for her? Why does it have to be one or the other? I would try to save us both, isn't that good enough?

I was just asking this question to a guy the other day. He was getting all finicky about being around a girl he's been seeing for a year. Now he's very eager to get married but also nervous that if he gets married he'll get bored with her and be unhappy. So I told him that he has to have a short list of questions to ask himself when he's with a girl. I asked him, bottom line, if he'd take a bullet for his girl. His answer was "No" and I explained that this was a prime indicator. She's not the one.

Any person will get instinctively protective over someone they love (mother/father and their child, BF/GF or hubby/wife). The girl would probably do the same thing if they saw harm coming to the spouse/BF who they love. It's just human instinct.

I'd take a bullet for him, and I'm pretty sure he'd take one for me...though, he has his shallow moments and if I asked him, he'd probably give me a fake answer. He's just like that...sigh...lol

But I agree, we'd probably just try to get out of the situation and not intend on either of us dying.

Yeah I would take a thousand bullet for him if it had to be one or the other... Only for him not just any boyfriend.. But I would like it more if we both were safe or both got shot together..

I'm of the line of thought that men die before women and children in a situation like that if somebody has to die. In that situation, the guy is trying to pick off people. Running makes you an easy target. My old college prof who was a former cop told us in the wake of the Virginia Tech shootings that if that ever happens, he's rushing the guy and that he expects us to follow him.

Nope. Only for family. Girlfriends/sex partners come and go, but family is for life.
