Is it normal to completly forget?

Okay I chatted with this guy a few years ago (2018 ca) and he seemed obviously very eager to have some romantic/sexual connection with me - it felt a bit too overwhelming tbh. Anyways we talked again not so long ago and he said that he couldn't remember anything but us having a "good tone". When I told him that if he didn’t remember it was probably normal for him and a way he would act with every girl, which he fully denied. So how should I interpret this? I get that he's not into me, but I think it’s weird to have such a memory loss about a situation where he did not play a very passive part...

I forget names and faces all the time sometimes I even forget my own name but I never forget a woman if they're actually special to me I guess certain details do fade over time but that's about it
