My boyfriend of 2.5 years only sees me once a week. Is that normal?

We only live about a half hour apart. We both work, but I'm done between 5 and 6 Monday - Friday, and he works landscaping, so his hours depend on the weather, but he's usually done by 6ish and he only snow plows in the winter. I've brought up multiple times that he doesn't have to limit his time with me to strictly weekends. I work from home 4 days a week, but my office is 10 minutes from his house. He's left things at my house before, and I've offered to return them the day I'm in office for work since I'll be close by, but he always says no, that he'll get them whenever he sees me next, which is usually weekends. 99% of our communication is via text. After 2.5 years, he's called me on my birthday once. I had surgery last November and it took him 4 days to come see me (of course he had to wait until a weekend). I've tried telling him a 99% virtual relationship makes me feel secluded and lonely, and he started making an effort more. . . For a couple months. Now we're back to square one and I don't know how to bring it up again.

That's one strange 'relationship' :) Myself, I'd see my girl as often as I can.
Obviously, YOUR guy has less energy in that respect.
Maybe, it's time to think about wasting your time with him?
You could tell him just that -but in a 'friendly' manner. Perhaps, he just needs a ''wake-up-call''.

It's not normal because that relationship is switch into "phone/text relationship", for me that is not normal to see each other once in week.

That's not normal. Tell him that he needs to figure out a way to see you more or you'll find someone that will.
