I met him 8 years ago and he moved into my house. After the first year he started to show less interest in me personally but we were already living together. I didn't gain weight or change my career. I did however finalize my divorce. We used to have sex regularly and I mean almost daily so when he started giving excuses I began to question (in my mind) his loyalty. He was too tired, wasn't in the mood, he had a lot on his mind, had a bad day at work, etc. It turned into him not being able to have an oragasm when we did occasionally do it. Yet he always liked pleasuring himself on my chest or face along with oral. Sigh.. Eventually we just stopped trying anything else. So this past week, out of the blue, he let me know that having intercourse is painful to him. To me it seems more like another excuse. Am I wrong? I haven't really said much about it to him and don't feel the need to at this point. I feel like a roommate.

If he isn’t maturely communicating with you and working with you on this, then somethings bothering him and he is failing on his side of relationship. If you’ve done all that you can, move on!
Not saying move on because of sexual reasons but move on because he isn’t communicating or trying to work with you on this. A relationship is a two way street and it takes two when there is good and bad times. Guys suck at communicating anyhow so don’t hold on to him too long if you don’t feel happy 😃

For the sex, if he is having pain, he needs to see a doctor right away. If he does have a solvable problem, maybe this will help resolve the sex issue.

I've never heard a guy say that, ever. And why now? All of a sudden it hurts when it was fine before. Easy way to break that bullshit is to tell him to go to the doctor to find out what's wrong (of course he won't), then ask him what is wrong and give him every opportunity to tell you.
