Why does he still hang out with his ex girlfriend if he says he’s over her?

So I’m talking to this guy that broke up with his girlfriend eight months ago, they dated for three years. To this day they I see they still hang out often he says he’s over her but he still posts on Snapchat when they hang out sometimes not all the time and she tags him in pictures of them at a baseball game with a red heart or at his daughters graduation and I’m sure they hang out more. By the way that’s not their daughter together. He calls me babe and still wants to hang out he says it’s her making all these plans that he’s over her and wants to move on with his life but if he really didn’t want it he wouldn’t allow it right or?

Hell I even liked one of the pictures and he said they’re just friends and he untagged himself but not even a week later at his daughters graduation she lost another picture and tags him again and it’s a picture of him his daughter and her after the graduation on the field.
