Is it bad that I hate when a guy agrees with me to just appease me?

Hello, ok context. One of my guys friends who is also my coworker, let's call him j, is constantly infuriating me. Whenever I ask him a question, to see his opinion on something, he will just default agree with me. Whenever he doesn't know what my stance on it is he will then ask if what he said was the right thing. A couple times I've pulled him to the side and have told him that this behavior is kinda getting on my nerves.

When another coworker and I are chatting and he sees me playing annoyed, since the other coworkers knows I'm not being serious, he will turn to me and say that it is ok they just don't know how to talk to women.

This kinda behavior is really getting on my nerves, and kinda makes me not want to ever associate with him. This is why I'm asking if I'm justified in being annoyed and what I can do to stop him from doing this. Since he is usually a really sweet and helpful guy other than this.

Yes, his eagerness to please can come across as annoying. You've already let him know this, yet he continues, so feel free to start distancing yourself from him.

Sometimes, people aren't aware of how this feels. You could give him a taste of his own medicine. You can say "This dress is really cute... don't you think you'd look great in it?" If he doesn't like these types of statements, just let him know you ask people for their opinion when you want to understand their opinion. You're not looking for people to blindly confirm your own perspective.

You're welcome. Sometimes people are oblivious as to how their actions impact others, especially if they are inexperienced in that area. You can say, "If you don't have a preference when someone seeks your preference, just say you have no preference. Never guess what the other person wants to hear."

He either is doing it to avoid getting into a confrontation, or he's really into you and is trying to convince you he's got the same views as you and therefore that you're a match.

Chances are, it's the second and he's too beta to realise that won't work. It is what we're taught as guys, so can't blame him there.

Not really, I just have been friends with him for like 4 years. But he started this type of behavior within the last couple of months.

Next time he says this start looking around like your looking for something. And since he's how he is he'll want to help and ask what you're looking around for. And when he asks that tell him, "Your balls"! Hopefully he'll get the hint.

He's a nusance. Tolerate him and be happy he's not a complete pos like other people. You could also not bother asking him questions.
