I accidentally asked a guy out over text while drunk?

This guy coworker and I have been flirting (not sexually) and I know I'm not supposed to assume -- but he likes talking to me. Everyone tells me he is quiet or shuts himself off from others, but he acts affectionate to me.

Today he knew I went out partying. I did notice he was acting less... happy about it.

When I got drunk I was flirting with him over text. He seemed so receptive to it that I straight out asked him if he was single and complimented him. I did tell him I am drunk and that "I might regret this tomorrow".

The thing is, I KNOW he's single. He ended up not answering me at all and he just laughed and told me that's inappropriate. That he isn't offended at all. We were supposed to hang out tomorrow.

What do I do? Did he not like me all along, was it because he knew I was drunk, or because I misunderstood everything? How should I interact with him tomorrow? Do I avoid it?

Don't be obsessed over it, if he doesn't bring it up. But don't be afraid to discuss it if he wants to.

It could be that he isn't interested in you that way. Or it could be that he's just being a nice guy and knew that you were drunk.
