Why do all guys say "I'm not looking for a relationship"?

I have said more or less the same thing for years now. It comes from me putting a lot of work into going through therapy to deal with my issues and bettering myself as well as my life in general. For me a lot of it comes from wanting to continue to move forward with accomplishing my goals. Another part of it is a bad relationship in the past. Her and I had a lot of work to do on ourselves before we even considered being in a relationship with anyone. We both had some issues that needed to be fixed. So we brought those issues and some baggage into the relationship.

After ending that relationship, I become my soul focus. So improving my life and fixing my issues are my main focus. At this point they are my soul focus and just about everything I do on a given day is in service of them. Also my plate is full and I make it a point to keep it full. So trying to have a serious relationship isn't going to be fair for whoever I'm involved with. Simply because that relationship will end up on the back burner a lot of times. Due to my focus on my two main goals.

I mean I'm the kind of person that plays guitar for hours on end and ignores everything else whenever I can. Simply because I want to get better. So chances are you can text or call me at some point and I'm not even going to notice my phone going off.
