Is it true men only make sure we make it home for an alibi?

So I have a booty call guy. We only meet up at his house to have sex. It’s the only time we spend together a few times a month. A few nights ago, I saw him. I was out with a friend shopping the next day when he text me. It was almost 2pm and the text said “you never let me know you made it home”. We’ve been doing this for 2 1/2 years and as he’s letting me out of his house, he always tells me to text and let him know I made it home but this time I didn’t. The friend I was with shopping a female, heard me read the text out loud and she says to me “ You know what I mean I always tell you to let you know they made it home right” And I’m like because it’s late at night when we leave I don’t know why. She says no it’s in case you get kidnapped and killed before you make it home he has confirmation from you that he wasn’t involved so he can’t be accused so he’s not a suspect. I thought to myself what kind of weirdo thinks this way but it does kind of make sense.
