My friends and I were celebrating my birthday and my crush cuddled with me, but we were both drunk. Does he like me or was it the intoxication?

My friends and I were celebrating my birthday by drinking and watching movies. We all got pretty drunk and at one point my crush moved from the love seat to the bigger couch where me and one of our friends was.

He was in between us and he put his arms around both of us (he is introverted so this was out of the norm for him). I ended up basically using him as a pillow and he kept his arm around me but not our other friend (the other friend is a guy and I am not). At one point I even left and came back, he let me use him as a pillow again. I’m pretty sure he even tried to rest his head on mine but that didn’t last long.

Anyway my question is, could this mean that he likes me back at all? Or could it just be the intoxication? (Another point to keep in mind, we all live in a house together so we are all pretty close with each other, but this also adds a layer of complexity)

It is entirely possible that it was purely the alcohol that caused the situation you explain in your details. Considering alcohol and being drunk lowers inhibitions, that would explain a lot about his behaviour compared to how he normally is (introverted). It allowed him to loosen up and act in a way that isn't usual for him.

Does that mean there is a chance he also likes you? Sure, that is entirely possible too. However, just from the context you give, I think it is more likely the alcohol was the culprit here.

You mention he put his arm around you and your friend. I would lean towards him being intoxicated and getting handsy with whomever he could versus trying to flirt with just you.

I could be totally wrong as well. I would be looking for signs he likes you or flirts when not drinking. That would be much more solid evidence he has a thing for you versus a drunken night.
