Is he just seeking validation?

There is this guy I’ve been talking to basically every day but who never wants to hang out and it’s been going on for 2 months. We hung out 4 times and after a while (I did try to initiate twice and nothing) I really just thought we were being friends until he mentioned he was going to his best friend’s place for a week and would send me pictures so I did start to wonder if there was something more. I haven’t heard from him in a couple of days but after thinking about it more, I’m starting to wonder if he is just seeking validation from me? We both said we weren’t looking for anything serious hence why Im now thinking if he doesn’t want the benefits of talks friends with benefits situation, he’s just using me for validation.
Is he just seeking validation?
