Would a guy send a girl he liked love songs, if he didn’t like her?

A guy friend of mine has lately been sending my lots of love reference songs. I’m unsure how to take it, as he’s never done it before, and neither has any other males. Do men do this becus they just like the song and want to share it, or do they listen to the lyrics and relate and send it in replacement of things they cannot say?
